MA Society of Fellows

The MA Society of Fellows is a group of masters students who have distinguished themselves by their superb academic achievement. A Graduate School committee selects these students on the basis of faculty recommendations, as well as GRE score and grade point average.

The Society of Fellows assembles for a festive evening event once or twice a semester. At these lively occasions, students gather to share their research, to participate in singular programs, and sometimes just to enjoy a celebratory meal in each other’s company.

Recently, Dr. Arnold Franklin (assistant professor of Classical and Oriental Studies at Hunter College) spoke on the subject of "Jews and Muslims: Methodologies in Transcultural Transmission."

In addition, Honors Society members are offered a stipend to offset the costs of either attendance at academic conferences or membership in learned societies.
