Twenty-one credits (seven courses), distributed as follows:

Pre-Cantorial Track:

  • MUS 4210: Beginning Music Theory I or appropriate level (three credits)
  • MUS 4211: Beginning Music Theory II or appropriate level (three credits)
  • MUS 4310: Beginning Musicianship I or appropriate level (two credits)
  • MUS 4110: Chorus (two credits)
  • Nine credits of electives chosen in consultation with an adviser

Non-Cantorial Track:

  • MUS 4210: Beginning Music Theory I
  • MUS 4211: Beginning Music Theory II
  • MUS 4411: From the Monastery to the Stage: Jewish Influences in Western Art Music
  • Twelve credits of electives chosen in consultation with an adviser
