The List College core curriculum will give you an overview of the major content areas necessary for a general Judaic-studies education. Many core courses are available at two levels: one for students entering the program with significant previous formal Jewish education, and one for students without as much previous experience. Your List College academic adviser will help you determine which courses and levels are appropriate for you. Click here for an explanation of the List College core requirements.
The List College major gives you the chance to delve more deeply into the area of Judaic studies that interests you the most. Click here for descriptions of List College majors and major requirements.
Since every student is unique, you should consult with your adviser before making your personal course selection, but you may want to view a sample first-year schedule.
The entire first-year class participates in List 101, a weekly seminar cosponsored by the Dean’s Office and the Office of Student Life. Upper-class students serve as peer leaders who generously share their expertise on how to thrive in the busy List College undergraduate environment. Click here for a few more details.

Studying abroad can be a wonderful aspect of your undergraduate education, and we encourage List College students to take advantage of the opportunity to explore a different culture and university environment. Some students choose to study abroad for a year between graduating from high school and beginning college: click here for a guide to the deferring process.
A large number of students choose to study abroad for a semester or year during their sophomore or junior year in college. Many Double Degree and Joint Program students find it more sensible and manageable to be away for a semester rather than a full year, but each person's situation is unique. Some students may choose a summer program instead. As you begin to think about and plan your time away from List, you should be in close contact with your advisers. The List College Study Abroad Guide provides general guidelines, important information, and a timeline to help you study abroad.
One wonderful feature of the List College experience is the opportunity to study with the world-class JTS faculty.
